Ultras — BGaming Slot Review and Free Demo
Ultras Review
Ultras is a football-themed BGaming slot released on May 7, 2026. It uses a 5×4 grid with 100 paylines and offers a maximum win of up to 5000× the bet. Its main mechanics are Expanding Wilds on the middle reels and a progressive Hold & Win feature, where collected Bonus symbols unlock additional multipliers as the grid fills.
Ultras Demo — Play for Free
Ultras can be played for free in demo mode without wagering real money. It is a convenient way to see how the Expanding Wild works on the middle reels, how the Scatter differs from the Bonus symbol, and how Hold & Win plays out. The free version also lets you explore Chance ×2 and the bonus-buy interface before switching to real-money play.
Key Features of Ultras
The table below brings together the main technical parameters of Ultras separately from the gameplay description. It provides a quick reference for the slot’s mathematics and layout, while its core features — Expanding Wild, Scatter and Hold & Win — are covered in more detail in the sections below.

About the Ultras Slot
Ultras shifts the action away from the football pitch and into the stands, where red and blue groups of supporters face off amid smoke, flares and police lines. The theme is more than visual dressing: the clash between a fan and a police officer is turned into the Bonus symbol and becomes the central element of the Hold & Win feature.
The base game runs on five reels and four rows with 100 paylines. Regular symbols form combinations from left to right, while the premium fan symbols pay more than the card ranks. A separate Scatter does not trigger the bonus feature — three or more Scatters award a standalone payout anywhere on the grid.
The main modifier in the base game is the Expanding Wild. It appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4, substitutes for regular paying symbols and can expand to cover the entire reel when it contributes to a winning combination. On a four-row grid, this can significantly increase the number of combinations the Wild connects between the first and last reels.
The second part of the gameplay revolves around Bonus symbols. Six or more of them trigger a separate Hold & Win feature, where the regular symbols disappear and the focus shifts to locked values, three respins and progress along a star meter.

Ultras Symbols
Ultras uses eight regular paying symbols, plus a Wild, Scatter and separate Bonus symbol. The themed part of the paytable is built around football supporters:
- Red Ultra — the highest-paying regular symbol; it can pay from just two matching symbols on a payline;
- Blue fan with drum — one of two mid-tier premium symbols;
- Green fan with megaphone — the second premium symbol at the same pay level;
- A, K, Q, J and 10 — the lower-paying card ranks.
Wild depicts a masked supporter and appears on reels 2–4. It substitutes for regular paying symbols, but not for Scatter or Bonus symbols. When a Wild contributes to a winning combination, it expands to cover the entire reel.
Scatter awards a direct payout when three or more symbols appear anywhere on the grid. Bonus has a different role: six or more Bonus symbols trigger Hold & Win.
Ultras Payout Table
The values below are expressed as multipliers of the total bet. Regular symbols pay for combinations on a payline, while Scatter pays when three or more symbols appear anywhere on the game grid. The Red Ultra also has an additional 0.1× payout for just two matching symbols on a line.

Ultras Bonus Features and Free Spins
Ultras does not use a traditional Free Spins round. Its main bonus mechanic is a progressive Hold & Win feature triggered by six or more Bonus symbols. All triggering symbols stay locked on the grid, and the feature starts with three respins.
Before the first respin, the game randomly selects three positions and assigns multipliers from ×2, ×3, ×4, ×5, ×10 and ×15. If a new Bonus symbol lands in one of these cells, the relevant multiplier is applied to its value. Every new Bonus resets the counter to three respins, so the sequence can continue while new symbols keep filling the grid.
A star progress meter sits above the grid. When 15 Bonus symbols have been collected in Hold & Win, all feature wins are multiplied by ×2. Filling all 20 positions applies ×3. The round ends when the grid is completely filled or when the remaining three respins pass without a new Bonus symbol.
Chance ×2 is an optional base-game mode. It increases the bet and doubles the probability of Bonus symbols appearing and Hold & Win being triggered. Chance ×2 is disabled while the bonus-buy feature is active.
Buy Bonus lets players enter Hold & Win immediately instead of waiting for a natural trigger. Several independent sources list the purchase price as 60× the current bet; BGaming’s public description confirms that Buy Bonus is available, while the exact price is shown directly in the game’s pop-up window.
Ultras Interface and Controls
In the regular game, Ultras controls centre on bet selection and the Spin button. Separate controls to the left of or beside the game grid open Chance ×2 and Buy Bonus, so before a spin you can use the standard mode, increase the chance of Bonus symbols or buy direct access to Hold & Win.
The game menu includes the rules and paytable, where the functions of Wild, Scatter and Bonus are explained separately. This distinction matters in Ultras: Scatter awards its own payout, while six Bonus symbols are required for Hold & Win. The game is officially optimised for mobile devices, so its main features and bonus mode remain available with touchscreen controls on smartphones.
Ultras Pros and Cons
The main strengths and weaknesses of Ultras come from its combination of classic paylines and a progressive Hold & Win feature. The base game is easy to follow, while most of the depth appears once Bonus symbols begin to collect.
Pros
- The RTP of the main published version is 97%.
- The maximum win reaches 5000× the bet.
- Expanding Wild works across all three middle reels.
- Hold & Win combines locked symbols, random multipliers and a separate progress meter.
- At 15 collected Bonus symbols, Hold & Win wins are doubled; filling all 20 positions triples them.
- Chance ×2, Buy Bonus and a free demo version are available.
Cons
- There is no traditional Free Spins round.
- The official 7.58% hit rate indicates comparatively infrequent winning spins.
- The maximum potential of Hold & Win depends heavily on how far the grid can be filled with Bonus symbols.
- Buy Bonus requires a large one-off stake compared with a regular spin.
Ultras Reviews
Below are opinions about Ultras. They help you understand which features, mechanics, pace, and design may be important when evaluating the game.
What I liked most in Ultras was Hold & Win. It is not enough just to collect coins: you also need to watch the three random multiplier cells and the star meter. Once the number of Bonus symbols gets close to 15, the feature genuinely starts to feel different because there is another target beyond simply filling the grid.

The football-supporter theme is unusual, but the mechanics matter more to me. The Expanding Wild on the three middle reels fits the 5×4 grid well and can sometimes completely change the result of a regular spin. I also like that the Scatter is not disguised as a bonus trigger and simply pays separately.

I started with the demo to understand what the stars do in the bonus. After a few attempts it became clear: 15 Bonus symbols apply ×2 to all wins in the round, while 20 apply ×3. The rule is simple, but it makes you watch not only the value of each symbol but also how much of the entire grid is filled.

The base game is straightforward: 100 paylines, card symbols, supporters and an expanding Wild. I miss conventional Free Spins because I prefer bonuses where several free spins gradually change the reels. Hold & Win is interesting, but it has a completely different pace and a different kind of anticipation.

Chance ×2 is useful if you specifically want to chase Hold & Win more often, but I prefer the standard mode without increasing the cost of every spin. Buying the bonus is not for me either. It is good that both features are optional and do not get in the way of playing the base game with the Expanding Wild.

Ultras Review — Final Verdict
Ultras is likely to appeal to players who enjoy payline slots with a straightforward base game but want a more involved Hold & Win feature. Its defining element is not simply locking Bonus symbols, but combining three random multiplier cells with progress thresholds at 15 and 20 collected symbols. The mechanics are easy to understand, although there are no traditional Free Spins, and the 7.58% hit rate is worth noting for players who prefer frequent smaller wins. Trying the demo first is a sensible way to learn the bonus feature.
