In & Out — Slot Review and Demo

18+ only.

In & Out Review

In & Out is a NetEnt slot themed around a museum heist, released on 18 June 2026. The game starts on a 6×5 grid, but Bomb can expand it to 8×7, while each winning Avalanche upgrades positions from Bronze to Diamond. The RTP is 96.08%, the Max Win reaches 12,086× the stake, and the main features are Free Spins, Super Free Spins, and the multi-level Heist Mode.

In & Out Demo — Play for Free

In & Out is available in demo mode, so you can test the mechanics without staking real money. Free play is particularly useful because of the game’s unusual structure: you can see Avalanche, grid expansion with Bomb, the progression of Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond positions, and how Free Spins and Heist Mode work. The main rules remain the same when playing with a virtual balance.

Key Features of In & Out

In & Out differs noticeably from classic payline slots: the grid size can change during a single round, wins are calculated from matching symbols anywhere on the grid, and Avalanche results prepare positions for a later Heist Mode. The main mathematical and technical parameters are summarised in the table.

About the In & Out Slot

In & Out is set during a night-time museum heist. The main character, Chloé, is hunting for valuables, and the theme is built directly into the mechanics: the symbols include burglary tools, jewellery, Bomb, and Chloé, who can open the way to Heist Mode.

A standard round starts on a 6×5 grid. There are no fixed paylines; the game uses a scatter pays system. Higher-paying symbols require at least six matching symbols anywhere on the grid, while lower-paying symbols require at least eight.

Every win triggers Avalanche™. The winning symbols disappear, new ones fill the empty spaces, and combinations are checked again. Vacated winning positions receive a Bronze highlight, while repeated wins on the same positions can progressively upgrade them to Silver, Gold, and Diamond.

These levels are more than a visual effect. If Heist Mode is triggered later, the level of each highlighted position determines the range of possible Coin and Diamond values. This means regular cascades can both produce current wins and build a stronger base for the bonus mechanic.

The grid size can also change during a round. Bomb removes neighbouring symbols and triggers another Avalanche. If Bomb lands on an edge, an extra row or reel is added, while a corner hit can expand the grid in two directions at once. The maximum size is 8×7.

In & Out Symbols

The regular paying symbols are split into two themed groups. Lower-value symbols are items Chloé uses during the heist: gloves, a torch, a lockpick, a crowbar, and a hook. Higher-value symbols are museum treasures and jewellery, including a necklace, blue gemstone, ring, red earrings, and tiara.

Special symbols directly control the mechanics:

  • Wild. It can appear in different parts of the grid and substitutes for regular paying symbols. It does not substitute for Bonus, Bomb, or special Heist Mode symbols.
  • Bonus and Super Bonus. Three of these symbols trigger Free Spins. Super Bonus also increases the initial number of spins.
  • Bomb. It removes eligible neighbouring symbols, triggers another Avalanche, and can expand the grid when it lands on an edge.
  • Chloé. Linked to the Heist Mode trigger: after Avalanche ends, both Chloé and a highlighted area must be present at the same time to activate the feature.
  • Coin and Diamond. Used inside Heist Mode, with values determined by the level of the corresponding position.

In & Out Bonus Features and Free Spins

In & Out is designed so that its main features interact with one another. Avalanche creates and upgrades highlighted positions, Bomb expands the grid, Chloé moves a prepared area into Heist Mode, and Free Spins allow the mechanic to continue without a new paid stake.

Free Spins. After all Avalanche sequences have finished, three Bonus or Super Bonus symbols trigger five Free Spins. Each Super Bonus in the triggering combination adds one more spin. The grid size and prepared highlighted positions carry over from the triggering round into the bonus.

During Free Spins, Avalanche, Bomb, grid expansion, and the possibility of entering Heist Mode remain active. Additional Bonus symbols can also extend the feature: one Bonus adds one spin, while two Bonus symbols in a single spin add two.

Super Free Spins. The main difference is that this mode starts immediately on the maximum 8×7 grid. Additional Bonus symbols during the feature can also add one or two spins.

Heist Mode. The feature starts when Chloé and at least one highlighted area remain on the grid after Avalanche ends. It begins with three spins, while unoccupied positions inside the Heist area spin separately.

Reward values depend on the level prepared earlier:

  • Bronze Coin: 0.5×, 1×, 1.5×, or 2×;
  • Silver Coin: 4×, 6×, 8×, or 10×;
  • Gold Coin: 15×, 20×, 25×, or 30×;
  • Diamond: 50×, 100×, 200×, or 1,000×.

Heist Mode also uses separate modifiers. Multiplier receives a value of 2×, 3×, 4×, 5×, or 10× and increases collected values. Upgrader raises the level of neighbouring positions, Burst upgrades random positions to its own level and can expand the game area, Extra Life adds one spin, and Collector gathers the values of Coin, Diamond, and other Collector symbols.

If Upgrader and Burst interact in the same round, Blast is activated, combining their effects and potentially changing several positions at once.

Elevate. This is a set of paid options that modify or directly trigger features. The current official game page lists five modes:

  • Bonus Hunt — 1.5× the stake: increases the chance of triggering Free Spins;
  • Guaranteed Chloé — 5× the stake: guarantees Chloé and increases the chance of Heist Mode;
  • Heist Mode ON — 20× the stake: immediately starts Heist Mode with three Bronze positions;
  • Free Spins — 100× the stake: triggers the bonus through three Bonus symbols;
  • Super Free Spins — 800× the stake: starts Super Free Spins on the maximum grid.

In & Out Interface and Controls

The main controls are located below the game grid. The stake is adjusted using buttons next to its current value, while the central Spin button starts a round. Autoplay is available for a series of spins and lets you select the number of automatic spins in advance.

A separate button speeds up the spin animation, while Elevate opens the menu of additional paid modes. This menu is particularly important because it is where you select Bonus Hunt, Guaranteed Chloé, direct Heist Mode, Free Spins, or Super Free Spins.

In & Out can be played on mobile devices. The main stake, spin, and Elevate controls remain available on a touchscreen, so the Avalanche, expanding grid, and bonus mechanics work in the same way as on desktop.

In & Out Pros and Cons

In & Out is aimed more at players who enjoy interconnected mechanics than those who prefer a simple “spin — result” format.

Pros

  • The grid can expand from 6×5 to 8×7 during a round.
  • Avalanche both creates new combinations and upgrades positions through the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond levels.
  • Heist Mode uses preparation from the base game instead of operating as a completely separate feature.
  • Both standard Free Spins and Super Free Spins are available.
  • Elevate offers five different ways to access or modify features.
  • The maximum win reaches 12,086× the stake.
  • A free demo version is available.

Cons

  • The large number of connected mechanics makes In & Out more complex to learn than classic slots.
  • Directly triggering Super Free Spins through Elevate costs 800× the stake.
  • Scatter pays may take some time to get used to if you are familiar with standard paylines.

In & Out Reviews

Below are opinions about In & Out. They help you understand which features, mechanics, pace, and design may be important when evaluating the game.

What I liked most is that Avalanche is genuinely connected to the other features. Winning positions gradually become Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Diamond, and those same positions are then used in Heist Mode. Because of that, even a regular cascade sequence feels like preparation for the next stage rather than just another symbol drop.

Editor’s reply:

This is one of the key In & Out features: position levels connect the base game and Heist Mode into one continuous mechanic.

Heist Mode turned out to be more interesting than I expected. I like that Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond provide completely different Coin ranges, while Multiplier, Upgrader, and Collector can significantly change what has already been collected. There are a lot of rules at first, but after a few rounds it becomes clear why the game highlights positions.

Editor’s reply:

The highlights have a practical purpose: the higher the position level before entering Heist Mode, the higher the range of values that area can use.

Bomb is a good idea because it does more than remove neighbouring symbols. If it lands on an edge, the grid actually expands, and a corner can add both a row and a reel. This means a round can start as a standard 6×5 setup and finish on a much larger grid.

Editor’s reply:

Yes, the maximum expansion reaches 8×7, and the mechanic is especially noticeable during Free Spins, where an enlarged grid can carry over.

Was this information helpful?

I prefer the standard Free Spins because they continue the mechanics of the round you have already prepared. I liked that the grid and highlighted positions do not reset immediately. Super Free Spins are even more interesting because they start at the maximum size, but the 800× stake purchase option is too expensive for me.

Editor’s reply:

The difference between the modes is structural: standard Free Spins inherit the prepared grid, while Super Free Spins start immediately on the maximum 8×7 setup.

Was this information helpful?

There were too many mechanics for me. You need to understand Avalanche, position levels, Bomb, Chloé, Heist Mode, and several types of special symbols at the same time. The concept is interesting, but I prefer slots where the result is easier to read. It is definitely useful to learn the game in demo mode first.

Editor’s reply:

The demo is well suited to learning In & Out: it is particularly useful for following how Avalanche creates position levels and how those positions later carry into Heist Mode.

In & Out Review Summary

In & Out is suited to players who enjoy seeing one round develop through several connected mechanics. Its main idea is not a standalone Free Spins feature or random multiplier, but the sequence Avalanche → position upgrades → grid expansion → Heist Mode. It is more complex to learn than a standard payline slot, but the preparation genuinely affects the later bonus. Before playing for real money, it is sensible to test the mechanics in the demo and check the active RTP and the cost of the selected Elevate mode.
