The standard Dragon and Tiger bets make the most sense to me. They both pay 1:1 and have an RTP of 96.27%. Tie looks more attractive at 8:1, but its RTP is much lower, so it has a very different mathematical profile.

Exactly. The payout ratio alone does not show how favourable a bet is: the main positions and Tie have different probabilities and different RTP values.

I like having Big, Small and Suit bets in addition to Dragon, Tiger and Tie. You can change the type of bet without switching games. The 7 is especially important to remember because it is a losing result for Big, Small and Suit.
