The modern IGT is not the same corporate structure as the former publicly listed International Game Technology PLC. On 1 July 2025, Apollo funds completed the acquisition of the Gaming & Digital business of International Game Technology PLC and Everi Holdings. The combined business became a privately held company operating under the IGT brand, while the former lottery business separated under the Brightstar Lottery name.
Today’s IGT is headquartered in Las Vegas and organised into three business units: Gaming, Digital and FinTech. Hector Fernandez became CEO of the combined enterprise in December 2025. The corporate site also highlights the integration of IGT’s portfolio with Everi technology and FinTech solutions.
For an online-provider page, the key division is IGT PlayDigital. It covers iGaming content, digital distribution, progressive jackpot systems, engagement tools and online adaptations of established land-based games. The wider IGT brand extends far beyond online slots, with products that also include gaming machines, casino systems, sportsbook technology and financial solutions for operators.
IGT is not an online casino for end users. Registration, deposits, withdrawals, KYC, bonuses, limits and customer support are handled by the individual operator that has integrated IGT games.
IGT’s gaming heritage spans decades. One major milestone is Megabucks: IGT states that the wide-area progressive system has been paying large jackpots since 1986. Another key brand is Wheel of Fortune Slots, launched in 1996 and developed into one of the company’s best-known game series.
Early digital titles such as Cleopatra and Da Vinci Diamonds helped establish IGT’s online catalogue. The company later placed more emphasis on moving successful land-based games online. That approach became central to PlayDigital’s omnichannel strategy: a popular land-based title receives a dedicated online version, while performance data from the physical casino product can help inform the digital launch.
In 2025, the brand’s history split into two corporate lines. The lottery business of the former International Game Technology PLC became Brightstar Lottery, while the Gaming & Digital assets combined with Everi to form today’s IGT. Older financial reports for IGT PLC therefore should not be treated as if they describe exactly the same corporate structure as the current gaming brand.
