About the Mine & Melt Slot

Mine & Melt is set in a gold-mining camp where prospector Lucky Jeb is searching for a new gold vein. The game has four reels, each four symbols high. Instead of a fixed set of paylines, it uses up to 256 bet ways: matching symbols need to land on consecutive reels from left to right, without being tied to a specific vertical position.

Regular spins feature card ranks and gold-mining items, but the base game can suddenly change through Three Lucky Swedes. Before the reels stop, positions on reels two to four can turn into Wild Miner symbols. These Wilds substitute for regular paying symbols and carry multipliers from x2 to x4.

Mine & Melt changes most noticeably when Bonus symbols appear. Instead of a standard set of Free Spins with a fixed number of spins, the game moves into a mode built around lives and collectible Collector symbols. The focus shifts from symbol combinations alone to gradually increasing Collector values through Merge and Smeltdown.

Mine & Melt Symbols

The regular Mine & Melt paytable is split between card ranks and themed symbols. The lowest-value symbols are 10, J, Q, K, and A. Higher-value symbols include a miner’s hat, lantern, pickaxe, gold pan, and gold bars. Gold bars are the highest-paying standard symbol.

  • Wild Miner. Substitutes for all regular symbols except Bonus and carries an x2–x4 multiplier. During Three Lucky Swedes, a Wild Miner can cover an entire reel from reel two to reel four.
  • Bonus. Three symbols trigger the Bonus Game, while four trigger the Super Bonus Game.
  • Collector. Appears in the bonus modes, starts at a value of 2, and remains on the grid. At the end of the bonus, its final value is multiplied by the base bet.
  • Smeltdown. Increases Collector values. Smeltdown uses an x2 multiplier in the regular Bonus Game and x4 in the Super Bonus Game.

Mine & Melt Paytable

Mine & Melt uses four reels, so standard payouts are awarded for three or four matching symbols. The multipliers below are based on the total bet per spin; symbol positions must form a winning way on consecutive reels from left to right.

Mine & Melt Bonus Features and Free Spins

Mine & Melt focuses on two special modes with a lives system rather than traditional Free Spins. Three Bonus symbols trigger the Bonus Game, while four trigger the Super Bonus Game.

  • Bonus Game. Starts with 3 lives. Each spin uses one life, but landing a Collector or Smeltdown resets the counter to three.
  • Super Bonus Game. Works in the same way but starts with 4 lives. A new special event resets the counter to four.
  • Collector. Each symbol starts at a value of 2 and stays on the grid. When the bonus ends, the value of each Collector is multiplied by the base bet.
  • Merge. If two Collectors of the same value are adjacent, one eligible pair merges. The resulting Collector receives their combined value, and the second position is cleared for a new symbol.
  • Smeltdown. Uses an x2 multiplier in the Bonus Game and x4 in the Super Bonus Game. It increases the values of Collectors already on the grid and also applies to Collectors that land later in the same bonus.

Both modes can be triggered through Buy Feature where the option is permitted in the relevant market. The regular Bonus Game costs 60× the bet and buys entry with three Bonus symbols. The Super Bonus Game costs 330× the bet and starts with four Bonus symbols. A purchased mode begins with a base spin that awards at least the required number of Bonus symbols.

Three Lucky Swedes also operates separately in the base game. Before the reels stop, full-reel Wild Miner symbols with x2–x4 multipliers can appear on reels two to four. They substitute for regular symbols except Bonus, and their multipliers apply to wins involving the relevant Wild.

Mine & Melt Interface and Controls

The main stake is displayed as Total Bet and adjusted through the control panel. Spin starts the reels, while tapping or clicking the game area during a spin may quick-stop the reels where that option is permitted. The information button opens the Paytable and Game Rules.

Autoplay lets you select a series of automatic spins in advance. In versions with extended settings, you can set the number of games, a total loss limit for the session, and a single-win threshold that stops Autoplay. Fast Play, where supported by the operator, shortens the game round.

On desktop, the settings include sound and the option to start Spin with the Space key. On mobile, Game Controls let you change Total Bet and open Autoplay, while the side menu provides Sound, Replay, Paytable, and the game rules. The main actions are adapted for touch controls.

Mine & Melt Pros and Cons

Mine & Melt stands out through the combination of 256 ways and a bonus where Collector values develop throughout the round. Its maths model and the cost of the Super Bonus also come with several important limitations.

Pros

  • Two separate bonus modes with different numbers of lives.
  • Merge combines matching Collectors and frees positions on the grid.
  • Smeltdown increases both existing and future Collector values.
  • Three Lucky Swedes adds full-reel Wild Miner symbols with x2–x4 multipliers.
  • In the 96.09% RTP configuration, the maximum payout reaches 5504× the bet.
  • A free demo mode is available.

Cons

  • The 96.09% RTP configuration has the maximum volatility rating of 5/5.
  • The Super Bonus through Buy Feature costs 330× the bet.
  • Buy Feature is not available in every market.
  • Lower-RTP configurations also reduce the maximum payout: to 5376× at 94.19% RTP and 5120× at 87.15% RTP.

Mine & Melt Reviews

Below are opinions about Mine & Melt. They help you understand which features, mechanics, pace, and design may be important when evaluating the game.

I like the Collector bonus most. It has a clear sense of progression: matching values merge through Merge and free up space, while Smeltdown can increase the whole set you have already collected. That makes the Bonus Game feel very different from ordinary Free Spins with a fixed number of spins. Three Lucky Swedes also works well as an extra mechanic in the base game.

Editor’s reply:

The interaction between Merge and Smeltdown is what most clearly sets the Mine & Melt bonus apart: one mechanic increases values by combining them, while the other scales the whole Collector set.

The 4×4 grid and 256 ways become easy to understand quickly, but the game really opens up in the bonuses. The Super Bonus with four lives and x4 Smeltdown is especially interesting. At the same time, paying 330× the bet to buy it directly is too big a step for me, so I would rather learn the mechanic in the free demo first.

Editor’s reply:

The Super Bonus does cost considerably more than the regular 60× purchase. The demo is well suited to learning the differences between the two modes without placing a real-money bet.

Three Lucky Swedes is a good idea for the base game. When a reel turns into a Wild Miner with a multiplier, a regular spin immediately becomes more interesting. But the high volatility of the standard version matters more than the attractive features, so Mine & Melt probably will not suit players who prefer very low-risk slots.

Editor’s reply:

Quickspin does rate the main RTP configuration at volatility 5/5. Random Wild Miner symbols can add potential to individual spins, but they do not make the maths model low-volatility.

I like the Collector mechanic because the values do not simply stay in place; they can merge with each other. It feels a little like a number puzzle. The interface is clear enough, with Autoplay and a faster mode where available. The downside is the different RTP versions, so it is useful to check the exact configuration before playing.

Editor’s reply:

Yes, checking the RTP for the specific operator is especially important here. Quickspin officially provides three maths versions, and not only the RTP but also volatility and the maximum payout change between them.

The gold-mine theme fits the Merge and Smeltdown mechanics, so the features feel connected to the game rather than added separately. But I would not call a 330× Bonus Buy a universal option, and the feature is not available in every market anyway. Without the bonus, the base game feels noticeably simpler to me.

Editor’s reply:

That impression makes sense: the main mechanical changes are concentrated in the Bonus and Super Bonus. In the base game, Three Lucky Swedes with Wild Miner remains the key special event.

Mine & Melt Review Summary

Mine & Melt is mainly aimed at players who want a high-volatility slot with a developing bonus grid rather than a standard Free Spins feature. Its key idea is the combination of Collector, Merge, and Smeltdown: values gradually combine and grow while lives remain. The basic rules are easy to grasp, but the three RTP configurations and expensive Super Bonus require attention. The safer way to learn the game is to start with the demo, check the pace, and then decide whether the mechanic suits you.
